Description: With his second symphony, consisting of three movements, Max Baumann continues the tradition in that he - composing tonally - juxtaposes a rhythmic-motoric musical main theme with a vocal secondary theme in both outer movements. Elements of modern jazz and swing music are also unmistakable. In the third movement, Baumann uses seven jazz instruments, including a drum set, four saxophones and two jazz trumpets.
