Die Klavierschule "Das Spiel zu zweit" ist ein vollständiger, in sich geschlossener Lehrgang für das Klavierspiel. Sie kann von Inhalt und Aufbau her wie jede geläufige Klavierschule auch für den Einzelunterricht Verwendung finden. Allerdings unterscheidet sich der Inhalt von anderen Unterrichtswerken in einem wesentlichen Punkt: Alle hier enthaltenen Musiken sind für das Spiel zu zweit bestimmt und geeignet. Sei es, dass jeweils zwei Stücke als Pendants erscheinen, sei es, dass andere die Voraussetzung zum gemeinsamen Spiel in sich selbst tragen. Das Spiel zu zweit ist Grundlage dieses Lehrgangs. For individual and group lessons The second volume of the Piano method 2000 grows with the child's psyche. It takes up every chapter of volume 1 and adapts it to the age of the child. The range increases to one octave in each hand. Polyphonic playing is built up slowly and carefully from the bordun; in the ‘composing corner’ the player invents accompaniments using the material introduced in the practice pieces. Partner songs with an adaptable level of difficulty as well as pieces for 3 to 6 hands help to motivate the player. The inner ear is practised in the ‘finger acrobatics’, which are short, clever etudes taught aurally by the teacher, as well as mastering two-part harmony in canon playing. On the ‘workshop pages’, theory is introduced in a convincing way, from a simple definition to playing with musical parameters and sight-reading. A text attachment on the technical structure provides the teacher with important information.

Wer spät anfängt, Klavier zu lernen oder sich diesem Instrument nach einer Reihe von Jahren erneut zuwendet, hat eine feste Vorstellung, was er will. Er kennt bestimmte Musikstücke, die er gern spielen möchte. Diese Schule berücksichtigt insbesondere den Umstand, dass Erwachsene in der Regel nicht viel Zeit zum Üben haben. Im allgemeinen sind sie trotzdem nach ein bis zwei Jahren soweit, dass sie die Literatur ihrer Vorstellung spielen und sich auch ohne Lehrer weiterhelfen können. Der Zeitaufwand hierfür liegt bei ca. 30 Minuten an fünf Tagen in der Woche. Im Gegensatz zu diesem Buch wird in allen üblichen Lehrwerken vorausgesetzt, dass der Spieler lange Zeit mit seinem Lehrer verbunden ist. Meist wählt der Unterrichtende die Stücke aus und gibt technische wie interpretatorische Anleitung. Dieser grundsätzlich konstruktive Ausbildungsprozess kann aber den Nachteil mit sich bringen, dass Spieler, sobald sie auf sich allein gestellt sind, hilflos vor der Aufgabe stehen, ein neues Stück zu erarbeiten. Es wurde versäumt, dem Spieler genügend Einblick in die Entscheidungskriterien für eine Interpretation zu geben. In diesem Lehrwerk für Spätanfänger entscheidet gerade die gezielte Befreiung vom Lehrer über die Fähigkeit, allein im Alltag Klavier spielen zu können, selbst im Musikgeschäft nach Noten stöbern zu können und sich bei dem Einstudieren der Stücke nicht unsicher zu fühlen. Aus dem Inhalt: Leichte Arrangements populärer Melodien und kurze Stücke bekannter Meister in steigendem Schwierigkeitsgrad als Spielliteratur. Dazwischen fließen immer wieder technische Hilfestellungen ein, zum Beispiel für ryhthmisches Spiel, Tempo, Artikulation, Dynamik, Taktarten, Griff- und Anschlagstechniken sowie Einspielübungen. Das letzte Kapitel führt in Stil und Epochen der Musik ein.
