Nun haben Jean Cassignol und Michel Démarez mit ihrem Heft “3 Duette nach Vivaldi und Haydn” eine weitere Sammlung beliebter Stücke vorgelegt, welche auf gekonnte Weise das Repertoire dieser Instrumente zu bereichern wissen. Das Largo aus dem Konzert für Violine RV 375 und das Largo aus dem Konzert für Querflöte RV 783 von Antonio Vivaldi wurden darin ebenso für Flöte und Gitarre arrangiert wie das Adagio aus der Sinfonie Nr. 24 von Joseph Haydn. 24 Original Pieces from the 16th and 17th Centuries Aus alten Lautentabulaturen by Edmund Wensiecki presents a selection of original song and dance pieces from the Renaissance. The lute parts are presented in historical tablature, while the guitar transcriptions are given in modern staff notation. The collection brings together works by anonymous composers with pieces by Adrian Willaert, Bartolomeo Tromboncino, Fabrizio Caroso, and Cesare Negri. The numerous Italian balletti, in particular, provide a vivid insight into the musical and dance culture of the Renaissance. Edmund Wensiecki’s edition offers an engaging introduction to this historical repertoire for both guitar and lute. By tuning the guitar accordingly and using a capo at the third fret, the original lute tuning can be reproduced. The fingerings are suitable for both lute and guitar.
