Duette für Flöte und Gitarre erfreuen sich einer immer größeren Beliebtheit. Nun haben Jean Cassignol und Michel Démarez mit ihrem Heft “3 Duette nach Vivaldi und Haydn” eine weitere Sammlung beliebter Stücke vorgelegt, welche auf gekonnte Weise das Repertoire dieser Instrumente zu bereichern wissen. Das Largo aus dem Konzert für Violine RV 375 und das Largo aus dem Konzert für Querflöte RV 783 von Antonio Vivaldi wurden darin ebenso für Flöte und Gitarre arrangiert wie das Adagio aus der Sinfonie Nr. 24 von Joseph Haydn. Während die Flötenstimme dabei ganz den bekannten Melodien bzw. Solostimmen der einzelnen Werke entspricht, verleiht die gekonnt eingerichtete Gitarrenbegleitung den Arrangements einen ganz besonderen technischen als auch klanglichen Reiz.

Mit Erklärungen und über 175 Trainingsfragen rund um die Flöte Schülern theoretisches Wissen zu vermitteln, ist keine leichte Aufgabe. Maria Evers und Andrea Osthoff finden jedoch zu jedem Zeichen, das oft in Flötenausgaben vorkommt, eine kurze und verständliche Erklärung. In den gleich darauffolgenden, unterhaltsamen Fragen wird der Lernstoff aus vielfältigen Blickwinkeln betrachtet und somit gefestigt. Ein Wissenstraining am Ende von jedem der drei Teile verstärkt diesen Prozess. Eine Ausgabe, die nicht nur jüngeren Schülern Spaß bereitet, sondern auch für ältere Flötisten kurzweilig ist.

Christmas music from Dalmatia for two and three recorders of different tunings or any other instruments. In Volume IV of the International Music Society’s anthology, Robert Lach published organ pieces which he had heard on the island of Lussin during a Christmas midnight mass and had subsequently copied from a manuscript dated 1 December 1830. The melodies are so lovely that it seemed sensible to make them available to recorder players in a simplified version. These pastorals combine Italian and Croatian elements in a delightful blend, based on ancient folk tunes. Instead of recorders, any other instruments may be used; the violin, for example, is well suited for the lower part of the three-part arrangements.
